As part of the academics- field visits, guest lectures, journal club and seminars have been integral part of our courses to add value to classroom sessions. All of these help participants to gain practical exposure. IIPHB Placement Cell, established in September 2013, assists in the job placement of the self-sponsored participants of the PGDPHM program.

Professional Development Workshop & Coursework

To develop professional skills and overall personality of the participants to get good placements and improve their on-job efficacy, IIPHB offers courses on computer skills, professional development workshops,support in CV development, preparation for group discussionsand interviews.

Placement Cell

The IIPHBplacement cell was established in September 2013 to assist in placement of self-sponsored participants of the PGDPHM program. Placement cell activities include creation of a database of potential recruiters and students, conduct placement need analysis among participants, set contacts with potential employers, communicate current job announcement related to public health to current and past students, and organize pre-placement and placement week activities. Placement cells at all IIPHs and PHFI interact regularly to exchange information and ideas.

Field Visits

The institute also organizes various field visits for participants as a regular academic activity. These field visits are conducted as part of course modules. The field visits help participants in gaining practical exposure. Participants have been taken to various places as part of these visits, including public health organisations including Urban Health Centres,Primary health centres, Community health centres, Anganwadi’s, Sewage plant etc.

Journal Club and Seminars

A journal club has been in place at the institute as part of which weekly seminars are organized where all participants, research staff and faculty are encouraged to present their own research work or review of a published article/report. The journal club aims at developingstudents’research and presentation skills.

Guest Lecture/Visiting Faculties

IIPHB is keen in bringing different guests and organize interactive sessions and discussions for participants and research staff. Experienced professionals from various fields are invited to deliver lectures as part of various modules and to present their research work.

Celebration of important days and Alumni meets

IIPHB observesimportant public health days and celebrates festivalswith the support of staff and students. Alumni meeting, cultural events and sports days are also organised every year at its premises.
