Short-term Trainings and Workshops

Indian Institute of Public Health-Delhi (IIPH-Delhi) offers a wide range of short-term trainings and workshops. These trainings aim to enhance the capacity of the professionals in implementing and managing health programs and improve the provision of quality health care services. Apart from this, the trainings also enable the participants to develop and enhance skills in quantitative and qualitative research techniques, critically appraise existing research and foster development of strong analytical skills. A range of training topics including Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods, Public Health Management, Health Policy, Public Health Nutrition, Advocacy, Health Communication, Ethics, and Leadership in Health and Development sectors are being offered. The key strengths of our training programs are; skill based training modules, contents designed for multidisciplinary nature of the participants, short duration, high standards of teaching by in-house experienced faculty, affordable registration fee and efficient administration. The principles of quality assurance are used for all training programs for continuous value-addition in the field.
Several of such training programs customised to the identified needs of health professionals, clinical and public health researchers, program managers, and social scientists from academic institutes, NGOs and health systems across India and also outside the country have since been conducted at the institute.
Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the containment measures and the resulting institutional closure IIPH-Delhi training division adopted online modality for short term trainings and workshops. During the period of April 2020 to March 2021, the training division successfully conducted 9 online trainings and workshops in which 310 national and international candidates participated. We also adopted blended modality for a training where online sessions were supplemented with contact sessions. Hosting these academic events has been a rewarding experience with the aim of providing a boost to the public health sector of the country. The training programs have been designed and aligned considering the needs of various stakeholders. Some of these trainings and workshops have received support and funds from both national and international organizations.
Since its inception in November 2008 until March 2021, IIPH-Delhi has successfully delivered 424 trainings and workshops, enhancing the skills and capacity of 9721 participants.
