Heart disease, diabetes, stroke, hypertension and other chronic diseases are leading causes of death and disability. Poverty and lack of awareness are closely tied to poor nutrition, hygiene and lifestyle. Together, all these public health challenges prevent Indians from all walks of life from reaching their potential. My life and my career have been driven by a passion for fitness and health. I believe that when health professionals, researchers, policymakers, civil society and public join hands, we will be able to achieve improved health for all.
