Brief on the Organization:

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health.  PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders. About Institute:

The Indian Institute of Public Health-Delhi (IIPH-Delhi) is a joint initiative of Government of NCT of Delhi and Public Health Foundation of India. IIPH-Delhi commenced its operations in November 2008 with the launch of the Post Graduate Diploma in Health Economics, Health Care Financing and Health Policy Program targeted at mid-career health professionals. Since then, IIPH-Delhi has expanded its activities and offers on campus programs, eLearning programs and short term training programs; conducts policy relevant public health research; and undertakes advocacy in public health. IIPH-Delhi is a vibrant hub of public health education, training, research, practice and advocacy in Delhi-NCR. It is currently housed within PHFI headquarters in Gurugram.

Deliverables:

PHFI is looking forward to expanding its Faculty Pool for the Indian Institute of Public Health Delhi. Therefore, we invite applications from candidates who are exceptionally bright, motivated and committed towards a dedicated teaching career.

Some of the key area of responsibilities would be teaching, training, research, programme engagement and institutional development and will include mainly the following:

  • Lead and undertake teaching for on-campus and eLearning programs including mentorship of students for dissertations and internship activities.
  • Assess and monitor student performance across modules for on-campus and eLearning programs.
  • Design teaching-learning material to support student learning for both classroom and eLearning.
  • Lead and participate in short term trainings. Develop proposals for trainings – for interested self-sponsored candidates/Govt. organizations/specific health professionals and coordinate with donor agencies.
  • Develop research proposals for submission to funding agencies and contribute to research activities including manuscript and research papers for publication in scientific journals.
  • Participate in public health practice related initiatives to advance the public health engagements at the community level.
  • Provide technical support to various stakeholders for advancing public health.
  • Develop partnership and collaboration with various public health organizations.
  • Accomplish assigned administrative responsibilities at the Institute, including demand generation and placements.
  • As applicable, for projects, institutional strengthening, etc.
  • As applicable, for projects and other institutional reports.
  • Any other institutional tasks assigned by Director-IIPH, Delhi.
Qualification:

Essential:

  • PhD in clinical research/public health or other related fields.

Desirable:

  • Post graduate degree in clinical research/clinical trial or related subjects.
Experience:

Essential:

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience after obtaining the essential educational qualification

Desirable:

  • Teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level
  • Clinical Research experience
