Research Summary and Interests

Rubina Mulchandani has been working on understanding the adverse effects of cholesterol-lowering drugs called statins on patients visiting a tertiary care hospital OPD for primary or secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease. Her masters’ thesis focused on determining the burden of myalgia among outpatient statin users. Her PhD work focuses on measuring changes in the neuro-cognitive profile of statin users over a period of 2 years. She is following up a patient cohort on statin to assess cognitive scores at different time intervals (using the Montreal Cognitive Scale), calculate a difference between the scores and explore possible reasons for the same.
