PHFI’s multi-disciplinary talent pool is well recognised and our colleague and teams win some very competitive bids for grants and are also recognised at the individual level for the work in contributing towards public health.

Significant awards won by PHFI researchers(2014-16)

  • Vikram Patel received the Institute of Medicine’s (USA) Rhoda and Bernard Sarnat International Prize in Mental Health, 2014 and the Honorary award of the ‘Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, 2016
  • Kabir Sheikh selected as Chair of the Health Systems Global in 2016
  • Monika Arora nominated in the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva 300 Women Leaders in global health, 2015
  • Kabir Sheikh elected as member of the editorial advisory board of the journal BMJ Global Health and elected as Chair of the Board of Health Systems Global, 2016
  • Sureshkumar Kamalakannan was a finalist shortlisted for the London Mayor’s International Student Innovation Award 2016
  • Santanu Pramanik received the Cochran-Hansen Prize, 2014
  • Mahaveer Golechha received the Alzheimer’s Young Scientist Award at USA & Young Investigator Scholarship Award at Brain, 2015
  • Sutapa Agrawal was a finalist for the Research Paper of the Year award by BMJ India, 2014
  • Shivani Mathur Gaiha was the runner-up at the Queen’s Young Leaders Award 2015
