Brief on the Organization:

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health.  PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders.

Project Brief:

Co-Benefits of Large Scale Organic Farming on Human Health is a cluster randomised evaluation of Government of Andhra Pradesh’s APCNF (Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming) programme. The evaluation will be conducted in select clusters of Visakhapatnam and Kurnool districts. The objective is to assess whether APCNF reduces pesticide exposure among farmers and improves glycemia, blood pressure, kidney function, dietary diversity, household income, child anthropometry etc. The evaluation will be conducted in partnership with Rythu Sadhikara Samstha. The project location is Visakhapatnam and Kurnool districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Deliverables:
  • Check the data accuracy at regular intervals
  • Generate error reports at regular interval and share with the field teams for correction
  • Ensure errors are corrected
  • Manage the REDCap database
  • Take regular backups of the data
  • Ensure de-identified data is stored in the CRDR
  • Share de-identified data upon request with study PI and authorized researchers
  • Coordination with the IT team to ensure smooth running of REDCap database
  • Coordinate with CRDR team to ensure data is stored correctly
  • Travel as and when required.
  • Any other task as assigned by the Supervisor/PI.
Qualification:

Desirable: 

  • Masters degree in Statistics/ Data Science. Familiarity with Stata and REDCap
  • Knowledge of R and databases like MS Access or SQL
Experience:

Desirable:

  • Around 3 years of experience of working as a data manager for clinical trials, cluster randomised trials or large-scale surveys.
