The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. Mission Utkarsh is launched by Honorable Prime Minister recently to improve the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) in 10 selected districts. Central Council of Ayurveda Sciences in collaboration with Ministry of Women and Child Development is rolling out a new initiative to improve anemia levels among adolescent girls registered in AWCs in five tribal districts. IIPHD is collaborating with Central Council of Ayurveda Sciences to support in conducting baseline and endline assessment of the project.
The Consultant – Lab Technician will be responsible to collect blood samples of adolescent girls from the selected AWCs and transporting it to laboratory for analysis. Key responsibilities include:
- Collecting blood samples of study participants as per SOP transport them safely to laboratory for the analysis
- Support the study team in obtaining lab reports in time
- Support study team to transfer the lab data in study data base accurately
- Support study team to adhere to the ethical guidelines while collecting the blood sample and ensure accuracy of data
- Travel as required
- Any other activities as delegated by the PI/Co-PI
Essential:
- Sc./ diploma-MLT from a recognized University
Essential:
- At least six month of post-qualification experience.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in research studies/ experience of taking blood sample form adolescents/ children
General Competencies:
- Ability of lead the team and mentor the team
- Effective Communication skills
Leadership Competencies:
- Ability to manage the team’s performance
Documentation:
- Ability to prepare reports, presentations etc.
