PHFI IIPH Bengaluru is implementing the project with an aim to “establish a state-of-the-art tribal health research center in southern India to conduct high-quality, health equity-oriented, culturally appropriate public health research to address contextually specific public health problems and build capacity of physician-scientists in improving the health of tribal people, as well as contribute to decreasing avoidable mortality and morbidity among tribal populations.”
The Centre’s overall strategy involves setting up a multi-institutional center in Chamarajanagar district with the PI and a field team to allow field-level mentorship, oversight and coordination across different stakeholders.
