Brief on the Organization:

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health.  PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders. Project Brief:

The Grant supports the advancement of the technical mandate of the organization. This includes work that is being undertaken by the different divisions within the organization (technical & operations). The work will also include developing collaborations and engaging with a variety of stakeholders within and beyond the Organization. This will also be a role in supporting select external facing activities of the Organization.

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) and the India Health Systems Reform Project of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (Harvard) both share goals of improving the capacity in India for quality health systems analysis and reform. Harvard has funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, India Country Office for a grant entitled, under that grant, Harvard intends to collaborate with PHFI on a series of activities, described in this scope of work, to focus on building capacity on health systems analysis and reforms among researchers and policymakers in India. The general approach includes both training and mentorship components.

Deliverables:
  • Review the current literature on health professions education, SDGs and health priorities of the country and other topics for advancing institutional mandate.
  • Write proposals.
  • Assist in grant monitoring activities.
  • Assist the supervisors in the development of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing institutional capacity, including faculty development, curriculum revision, and research advancement.
  • Prepare reports and presentations as directed by supervisors.
  • Maintain and document minutes of the meetings and action points.
  • Assist in preparing progress reports and updates on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions.
  • Collaborate efficiently within teams to enhance project outcomes.
  • Timely submission of donor reports as per the requirement of the project.
  • Travel as required.
  • Any other task assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualification:

Essential:

  • MBBS/BDS Graduate with a master’s degree in public health or related areas

Desirable:

  • Additional certification or training in Health Economics, Health Policy, or Health Management.
Experience:

Essential:

  • Around 2 years of work experience in donor management and program management

Desirable:

  • Experience in program management, curriculum development.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and research methodologies.
  • Experience in working with international health organizations or government agencies. Top of Form
  • Experience working with international organizations or government agencies.
  • Prior experience in health systems strengthening or public health program implementation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate across teams.
  • Familiarity with grant writing, proposal development, and reporting to donors.
