Professional Summary and Publications

Dr. Thakur’s work focuses on advancing research and policy engagement at the intersection of climate change and public health. At the Centre, she contributes to evidence generation on climate-sensitive health risks and environmental determinants of health through research studies, technical reports, and thematic monographs. Her work also involves supporting programme development and strengthening capacity for climate–health action through trainings, workshops, expert roundtables, webinars, and the development of research proposals and technical resources.

Dr. Thakur has contributed to several collaborative research initiatives. As part of the EXHALE project with Maastricht University, she worked on assessing the impact of low-smoke cookstoves on household air pollution exposure and respiratory health among women and children living in urban slums in India. She has also been associated with the Climate Ledger Initiative’s “Cooking as a Business” project led by FairClimateFund and partners including Nexleaf Analytics, JSMBT, and Applied Technologies. The project piloted a blockchain-based system in Raichur, India, where  households were provided with sensor-enabled clean cookstoves to monitor cooking practices.
