Dr. Priyanka Dey is a public health professional deeply committed to strengthening health systems and improving access to quality primary healthcare in underserved settings. With experience across government, non-profit, and research environments, her work focuses on translating public health policies into meaningful action on the ground.
She holds a Master of Public Health in Social Epidemiology from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, where her academic thesis explored the societal determinants of postpartum depression. Dr. Dey began her public health journey with Jana Swasthya Sahyog, supporting efforts to improve the quality of maternal health services in tribal districts of Madhya Pradesh. She later served as Divisional Program Officer with Jhpiego, where she played a key role in advancing Ayushman Bharat service integration across more than 300 Health and Wellness Centres in the Bastar Division of Chhattisgarh, while mentoring over 3,000 frontline health workers.
At ICMR–NIRRCH, she contributed to strengthening Urban Health and Wellness Centres through implementation research, NQAS-driven quality improvement initiatives, and data-informed support to government health programs.
Currently, Dr. Dey works as a Senior Program Coordinator at the JSW Centre for Climate Change and Health, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI). In this role, she supports work at the intersection of climate change and health systems, with a focus on resilience, preparedness, and equity.
Across her career, Dr. Dey has worked extensively in difficult and hard-to-reach geographies, contributing to improved service delivery in maternal, child, and primary healthcare, particularly for marginalized and tribal communities. Her interests lie in climate–health linkages, community-based care, and public health system reform, driven by a strong belief in building equitable and resilient healthcare systems for all.
