Professional Summary and Publications

Prof. Preeti's experience spans over nearly two decades, characterized by her work ranging from epidemiology to health systems strengthening and climate-health interactions.  Currently, serving as the Professor and Chair of the JSW Centre for Climate Change and Health, her work focuses on building climate-resilient health systems and addressing environmental health vulnerabilities. 

She has successfully led and/ or contributed to several funded research and implementation projects, reflecting a diverse portfolio. Her extensive work in maternal and child health includes risk factors for stillbirths, low birth weight, and congenital malformations through population-based studies. She has led WHO-supported initiatives to strengthen Routine Health Information Systems (RHIS) across South-East Asia by pilot-testing training curricula and aligning regional data with global monitoring frameworks​. Her work specifically includes providing technical expertise for the global SCORE assessment to optimize data-driven primary healthcare systems. Her research has been supported by national and international agencies including Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, ICMR, Ministry of AYUSH, WHO and UNICEF. She also has extensive experience of leading and coordinating capacity building initiatives in Field Epidemiology Training Program and Disaster Preparedness in hospitals and public health systems.
