Moutushi Majumder has been involved with conceptualizing and developing study concepts, study tools, training of the field enumerators, field monitoring, data cleaning, analysis and writing scientific manuscripts for a variety of research projects over the last many years.
She has gained considerable expertise in maternal and newborn health focussing on stillborn babies and antenatal care services, Tuberculosis, suicide, and mortality studies. Presently, her work involves extensive research in intentional and unintentional injuries in India, with a specific focus on gendered aspects of suicide and gender-based violence in India. She is also involved with developing bereavement care package for bereaved families of stillborn families as national strategy.
Moutushi is keen on deepening her technical expertise in building leadership skills to influence institutional change. Being a demographer with her experience over 13 years in public health and health system, among many her past research includes work related to tackling undernutrition among children, economic analysis of select disorders as a part of disease control priorities network and prevalence of domestic violence of selected states in India. She has 15 research peer-reviewed articles in international and national journals.
