My professional journey in public health spans over 10 years, with a strong focus on strengthening health systems in Bihar. I am currently working as a Project Manager at the State Program Management Unit (SPMU), where I support the Department of Health in improving program planning, coordination, and service delivery. I regularly work with senior government officials to ensure that key health initiatives are implemented effectively.
Earlier, I worked with organizations like UNICEF and CARE India, where I gained valuable experience in managing large-scale public health programs. At CARE India, I served as a nodal person for overall program operations, where I was responsible for team coordination and ensuring timely programmatic, administrative, and logistic support. I also acted as the first point of contact for the Director SRU and coordinated closely with the leadership team.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I handled several critical responsibilities. I managed HR processes for around 2,500 volunteers, including payments and contract management. I also led procurement and coordination across 17 states and raised around 3,500 PRs to ensure smooth operations during a highly challenging period.
I was also selected to support the Government of Bihar in managing the 24×7 COVID-19 emergency helpline under the guidance of senior health leadership. In this role, I coordinated with state and district officials as well as private hospitals to ensure timely support for patients. Being part of this effort and seeing patients recover brought a deep sense of satisfaction and purpose.
With UNICEF, I worked on a special assignment during the 2008 Kosi floods, supporting coordination between government agencies, NGOs, and UNICEF teams for effective relief and rehabilitation.
In Bihar, I have also contributed to key programs such as DNB expansion, Didi Ki Rasoi, Baal Hriday Yojana, Baal Shravan Yojana, DMD program, and SNCU monitoring. My journey reflects my commitment to strengthening public health systems and improving access to quality healthcare for all.
