Dr Pushkar Kumar is a Physician and has over 20 years of experience in the area of public health having served in the Government, NGO and private sector. He is working with PHFI as a Sr. Public Health Specialist & heads the Training Division which is working for capacity building initiatives for Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) & Healthcare professionals in clinical conditions and various public health domains for the last six years which has trained more than 36,000 healthcare professionals across the country.
He looks after training of the Primary Care Physicians & Health care professionals in the field of diabetes, GDM, COPD & Asthma, Thyroid disorders, Women’s Health, Mental Health, Palliative Care, Geriatric Care, Obesity management, Healthcare quality, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Medicolegal ethics, Patient safety, Cybersecurity in healthcare, Healthcare Technology and MDPs in Health programme management and other initiatives including research. He is responsible for establishing & maintaining strategic partnerships with the Central & State Governments, PSU and International collaborations for these initiatives.
He has worked for more than 9 years in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare as Lead Consultant in Maternal Health and Sr. Technical Officer and Programme Officer in the Blood Safety Division at NACO. He has worked in all aspects of policy, planning, programme implementation, health system strengthening, capacity building, supporting State Governments and been a part of over 30 Policy and operational guidelines of Govt. of India. He has also managed the blood transfusion services in a tertiary care hospital at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi.
