I am a Master of Public Health (MPH) graduate from the Indian Institute of Public Health- Gandhinagar, India and currently working as a Research Assistant at the Public Health Foundation of India, Bengaluru Campus. Prior to this, I had studied BSc with majors in Microbiology, Zoology & Chemistry from St. Joseph’s College, Bengaluru.
Research Summary and Interests
I believe that children deserve the best possible start in life, physically and mentally, as it largely reduces their risk of developing adverse health events such as developing chronic diseases later on in life. I am keen on contributing to research and policy-making in the field of risk factor identification and prevention for chronic diseases at an early age, and early life interventions.
Currently, I am coordinating a pilot study at PHFI Bangalore which assesses the dietary habits and lifestyle of school-going children in Bengaluru. I have previously worked on research projects pertaining to the effect of infant feeding practices on the anthropometry of infants and, the aggressiveness of thyroid cancers. My research skills include manuscript and grant writing, developing study tools, project coordination, quantitative and qualitative data collection, and basic microbiological techniques.
