Ruby Gupta has an experience of more than ten years, working in varied capacity. As a coordinator, as quality manager, both at the field as well as laboratory and as a scientist wherein she has standardized and established many assays in the laboratory for implementation in different studies. Her early work was as a Biochemical quality assurance coordinator in multi-centric epidemiological studies funded by WHO and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, Welcome Trust and ICMR study. Apart from this, she has also actively worked for biochemical assay development for their cost-effectiveness and usability in large epidemiological studies in low resource settings with special reference to dried blood spots. She has extensively worked and continuing to do so in the field of standardization and validation of newer biochemical assays related to cardio-metabolic disorders as well as inflammatory and nutritional biomarkers.
She has been part of large scale epidemiological studies in the capacity of biochemical co-investigator conducted in India to asses’ cardiovascular risk factors. She has more than 40 publications and reports published in National and International peer-reviewed journals and have more than 20 presentations in conferences, workshops and symposiums. She has supervised dissertations for graduate and post graduate trainees and mentored scientists for method development.
Currently she is working on objective measurement of nutritional biomarkers in biological samples for a supplementation trial and assessing role of lead exposure in development of cardio-metabolic disorder.
