Priscilla C Ngaihte

Dr. Priscilla C. Ngaihte is currently working as Advisor, Health Transformation at the Public Health Foundation of India with the primary focus of catalysing health action initiatives from all sectors of society towards provision of health that is equitable and accessible. Dr. Ngaihte is also In Charge of the North Eastern Initiatives and Co Head of the Swasth Uttar Purv : Healthy North East Project  – an initiative by the Public Health Foundation of India and Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Govt. of India  to strengthen human resource and systems capacity for public health in the North Eastern region. Trained as a Global Health Specialist from Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada Dr. Ngaihte has more than a decade of experience in Public Health Research, Public Health Academics, Training, Projects Management and Implementation. Dr. Ngaihte was a recipient of number of awards including the SFU Community Health Award for Health Research, the India –SFU Scholar Award and the TD Canada Trust Award for Research in Health Sciences. Dr. Ngaihte has also been a recipient of international fellowships including the Australian Leadership Fellowship Program for a Fellowship in HIV Medicine from Sydney University, Australia; Fellowship for the T5 (Teaching the Teachers to Teach) Fellowship from Boston School of Public Health, Boston University, Massachusetts; Research Fellowship from the Wellcome Trust Capacity Building Program, United Kingdom. At the domestic level, Dr.Ngaihte has also been a recipient of  prestigious grants from the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Govt. of India and from  the North Eastern Council, Govt. of India for Technical Assistance and Capacity Building of Public Health workforce in the eight North Eastern States of India. Dr.Ngaihte’s primary interest lies in public health practice bringing global solutions for local applications and trans-sectoral collaboration for public health. She is also currently leading a number of state level collaborative health transformation ventures as Principal Investigator focussing on Human Resources for Health, Health Systems Strengthening, Health Policy and Advocacy in the North Eastern States and in the underserved populations in India.
