Research Summary and Interests

To date, my research has largely been focused on cancer epidemiology (descriptive, etiology and implementation research) and related research on diet and physical activity. My area of work includes secular trend analyses of oral cancer, population-based prevalence estimations of cancer, early cancer detection and screening, health technology cancer registration, oral pre-cancer bio-markers, cancer survival rates, quality of life in cancer survivors as well as diet, nutrition and physical activity in multi-site rural and urban projects. My long-term goals are to inform novel cancer prevention, early detection and control strategies in India by conducting large epidemiological studies that have important scientific and real-world impact and to strive towards national and international recognition on cancer epidemiology in South Asia.
