Debarati Mukherjee

I am a cell and molecular biologist by training (PhD from Purdue University, USA), with postdoctoral experience in the neurobiology of autism spectrum disorders from the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bengaluru, India. I transitioned to public health research through a Clinical Investigator Research Fellowship at the Centre for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC), Gurgaon and then as a DST-INSPIRE Faculty Fellowship in PHFI/IIPH-Bengaluru.

My current research interests include early childhood development, specifically the development and validation of gamified neurodevelopmental assessment tools for preschool children, and studying the immediate and long term impacts of early adversities during critical periods of brain development on neurodevelopment and mental health.
