Anjali Singh Kulkarni
Public Health Specialist & Adjunct Associate Professor
Anjali Singh Kulkarni, trained in public health and social work also holds a bachelor’s degree in Law. She has rich experience in public health with special focus on STI/HIV/AIDS and reproductive and child health with various international organizations such as Family Health International, Population Services International, India Canada Collaborative HIV/AIDS Project and CARE India. She has played diverse roles in various project management capacities in development & management of projects, research, trainings and advocacy with NGOs and various senior government officials of Rajasthan and Maharashtra. Furthermore, she provided technical and strategic support to State AIDS Control Society (SACS) and partner NGOs in the two states and undertook baseline and evaluation projects. She has participated in and supervised a range of research studies on HIV and health systems.
As academician, she initiated and led a distance learning certificate course in STI and HIV/AIDS in collaboration with The University of Sydney, Australia in addition to teaching current courses at Indian Institute of Public Health Delhi. Anjali has designed, organized and conducted participatory training workshops on diverse topics for various levels of government officials, NGOs and community representatives. She has implemented two research projects supported by WHO India on adolescent health in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. She has presented papers on HIV/AIDS, safety and health communication in international conferences and has published papers in public health.
Anjali received Masters in Public Health from The University of Melbourne. She received Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Law from Kurukshetra University, Haryana and Bachelor of Science from Punjab University Chandigarh, India. She also received Australian Leadership Awards Fellowship from The University of Sydney, Australia and Atlantic Fellowship for Leaders in Health Equity from George Washington University, USA. Her key areas of interest include STI/HIV/AIDS, reproductive and child health, adolescent health, health communications, health equity. . In co-curricular activities, being an athlete herself, she has actively engaged students in sports activities.

Research Summary and Interests
Anjali was involved in health system research during the initial phase of her career. Later, she developed interest in research related to adolescent health, reproductive and sexual health, WASH health equity and geriatric health. Anjali was awarded two research projects by WHO India on adolescent sexual and reproductive health with special focus on adolescent pregnancy. She has been a team member in research projects related to tuberculosis, health systems, urban health, migrant health and maternal and child health.
