Ananya Tewari

Ananya Tewari has a masters in Environmental Science and Technology with more than 5 years of professional experience in policy research and advocacy. She holds an undergraduate degree in Biotechnology. With an extensive experience in writing web and print media pieces Ananya has worked on several aspects of food safety and its related impacts on public health, food security, sustainable agriculture, environment management in animal farm industries and the impacts of built environment on public health in India. She has also worked on projects for Conservation of Himalayan Forests and Wildlife, Ambient Air Quality Assessments and Fresh Water Management .

Research Summary and Interests

Currently working for the development and active engagement of members of Health and Environment Leadership Platform (HELP), a part of the Global Green and Healthy Hospital community that is spread across 50 countries from all over the world. The platform brings together the hospitals, health systems and health professional bodies in India under the overarching goal of reducing environmental footprint of health sector. Ananya is working towards the development of collaborative policy making to address health impacts of environmental pollution. It is aimed at contributing towards the improvement of public and environmental health along with building capacity of physicians on the health impacts of environmental pollution. Specific research interests include impacts of air pollution and climate change on public health and environment.
