The Indian Institute of Public Health under the aegis of Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is offering a series of short training programs and workshops to address the needs of public health professional in different thematic domains. In pursuit of this objective, IIPHB announces a three days workshop on National Sample Survey data, concept, structure, analysis and its usefulness in health. The National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Government of India, conducts various socio economic surveys periodically based upon nationally representative sample. The survey findings are used to design many important policy decisions in several domains including poverty, health, agriculture and Industry. In the case of health care, NSSO conducts specific surveys related to morbidity, utilization and Out Of Pocket Expenditure (OOP) on health care. The recently released 71 st round has plethora of information on health care utilization, morbidity pattern and OOP incurred on accessing health care services. Given such a rich data base, this has been least explored among the health care professionals and this workshop will make an attempt to bridge the existing knowledge gap
