Preeti Kumar

Dr. Preeti Kumar is the Vice President- Public Health System Support at the Public Health Foundation of India. She is an Ophthalmologist with a MSc in Public Health Policy and Financing from the London School of Economics (LSE) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
She has over 25 years’ experience of working with Government of Uttar Pradesh, Ministry of Health, GOI, WHO and the GFATM. She was part of the Secretariat for the High Level Expert Group (HLEG) which drafted the report on Universal Health Coverage. Her significant area of contribution was on access to medicines. Most recently she co-led the team at PHFI which worked on drafting the State Health Policy for Uttar Pradesh.
Some of her key achievements at PHFI have been to establish a National Technical Support Unit (NTSU) for the National AIDS Control Organisation to support and strengthen the quality of HIV prevention programs across the country as well as large scale capacity building initiatives of NGOS working in HIV program. She continues to lead and implement several projects with the national programs and State governments on HIV, TB and Visceral Leishmaniasis
