The Public Health Foundation of India is conducting training programmes and delivering courses to professionals on various public health streams. PHFI is launching training programmes and courses in the Distance Learning mode for various public health streams. The objective of these courses is to provide knowledge and skills to professionals, students and practitioners who wish to learn at their own pace and do not have the time for campus courses.
As part of this effort, PHFI wishes to recruit a ICT officer who will take independent charge and shoulder the entire responsibility of managing the tobacco control website, interface, networking, managing the content and also largely supporting and/or training the faculty and students. . The applicant will also have to be familiar with developing e-learning portal on Website and website management, videoconferencing and familiar with processes related to on-line education.
Note:
This job requires working (full time/part time) on all the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). Compensatory off would be provided on weekdays. Total working hours would be 45 hours per week.
Job Responsibilities/Requirements:
Since on-line courses would be delivered through a website, the applicant should be well versed with all stages of uploading: materials, lectures, power-point slides, delivery of course, developing online assignment submission mechanisms for each registered student, maintaining a web board and supervising contents of web board.
Specific tasks are described below.
E-Learning Administration
- Support the faculty for lectures, file conversions, presentations and any other requirements
- Strongly assist in converting video file formats, video editing, compression and animations and any studio related coordination
- Technical support to the students during lectures
- Generate user ids, monitor student credentials, logs, statistics, reports and attend email queries from students
- Upload the content through the Learning Management System
- Send out newsletters or updates
- Regular backup of the website content, files and materials
IT and Network Administration
- Ensure proper functioning of the e-learning platform, monitor the required IT infrastructure
- Co-ordinate with network, hardware, software vendors, service providers in procurement and development and also with the Web and IT team officials at PHFI
- Monitor the network, bandwidth, storage space
- Sound knowledge in troubleshooting hardware, networking/connectivity and requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
BE / B.Tech / MCA / MSc / Bsc in computer science or Information Technology stream or any graduate with PG Diploma or certification in computer sciences / networking.
Candidate must have at least 2 - 4 years of experience.Experience in developing / managing e-learning portals or websites
- Hands on experience in networking, IT infrastructure monitoring
- Demonstrated experience in video editing/compression software, animations
- Experience in using content management systems
- Any other relevant certifications would be an asset
SKILLS:
- Strong networking knowledge – IP, Bandwidth, load balancing, streaming, server management
- Supporting tools – Remote Desktops, Team Viewer, Log Me In
- Strong web skills related to Internet updates, usage of online tools
- Strong MS Office suite skills – Powerpoint, Word, Excel, PDF
- Basic knowledge of HTML would be an added advantage
- Knowledge on design tools like Photoshop, Dream weaver would be preferred but not essential
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and also with a team
- Good oral and written communication in English and Hindi
- Good supporting skills
- Awareness on recent web and information technologies
- Flexible to work at odd hours as and when required
The ideal candidate will be offered a one-year contract, which will be further renewed based on performance. Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.

Field Interviewer
Position: Field Interviewer (Four positions)

The Centre of Cardiometabolic risk Reduction in South Asia (CARRS) is an initiative at the Public Health Foundation of India. CARRS is developing and implementing (a) a model sentinel surveillance scheme capturing population-based cardiometabolic disease risk factor data; and (b) a randomized controlled translation trial to evaluate implementation of low-cost, multi-factorial, multi-faceted, innovative, scalable and sustainable delivery improvement strategies for cardiovascular disease risk reduction. CARRS will serve as a global research hub, train world-class investigators and build research capacity, and produce and disseminate innovative, science-driven, and low-cost solutions.
Duration: 1 year (extendable)
Job Description:
The Field Interviewer will contribute to the implementation of the surveillance study in the following manner:
- Engage the community leaders and brief them about the study objectives to assure the cooperation of their communities for the study
- Conduct listing and mapping of targeted households
- Visit randomly selected study subjects to motivate them for being a part of the research study
- Conduct interviews of eligible subjects on standardized questionnaires at baseline and then on yearly basis
- Perform anthropometric and clinical measurements and prepare weekly progress reports
- Counsel enrolled individuals on giving biological specimens and facilitate its collection process
- Disburse lab results to the study participants and keep records
- Follow-up of defaulter cases (those who do not turn up for follow-up)
- Assist with editing and entering of data collected during survey and follow-up visits
- Maintain record of all individuals, ensure their timely follow-up
- Maintain strict confidentiality of participant data
- Assist in conducting in depth-interview and Focus group Discussions (FGD)
- Report to the Site Coordinator
- Any other task as assigned by the Investigators
Competencies/ Skill sets required
- Education: A degree in social science, social work, nursing and nutrition
- Two year experience in health research studies
- Excellent communication skills in Hindi
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience and qualification
